Comic Book Museum (foundation)
Project context: Three great fans of comic art, with whom we had the pleasure to cooperate on the exhibition at the National Museum (Teraz Komiks), took the first steps towards establishing the Comic Book Museum. A foundation was established whose main goal is to create a place in Krakow for unique collections of original comic book charts, illustrations and various gadgets in the next few years; miracles and wonders from the world of Polish comics. Our studio was asked to advise on communication strategy and design full visual identification. Challenge: The Foundation is not only its founders, but also a circle of comic book authors, fans and "friends" who unite around the initiative. Energy, passion and sincere (because developing from childhood) love for comics are amazing values that lead and propel these people to action. These are the features that we decided to highlight in the foundation's communication. An unusual task is to create a sign for an institution that exists only as an idea so far. The inability to refer to the museum building, instead of treating it as an obstacle, we decided to take as value and visualize the Comic Book Museum as a living idea.
Creation: A sign was created that is supposed to transfer the energy of the creators and friends of the concept of the Comic Book Museum. The letters M and K have been saturated with emotions in a way inspired by a comic's emotional utterance. The shape of the sign refers to a speech bubble, which in comic book art symbolizes dialogue. In the project of identification through symbolism and colors, we emphasize that the foundation in the process of creating the Museum is open to discussions and cooperation. The signet is a sign conveying euphoria and joy through the shape of exclamation marks, we hope that, just like the founders of the foundation, it will infect you with good energy and inspire you to act together.
